Park Avenue

parkave pic_sPark Avenue was formed in January of 2000. The four experienced barbershoppers of Park Avenue decided it would be fun to start the new millennium with a brand new group and a brand new sound. All members worked very hard to establish their new sound and the work paid off in October, 2000 when they became the Johnny Appleseed District Champions. Since that time, they have enjoyed performing shows all over the country, produced a CD, enjoyed many laughs together and recently further refined their sound by replacing their bass singer.

Don Pullins, the new bass of Park Avenue, joined the Society in 1969. After college, he began searching for a way to satisfy his love of music and found barbershopping. Through the years, Don has proven to be an outstanding singer. He has been in many district medallist quartets singing both tenor and lead. Don has decided to leave the high notes to younger men and take up the new challenge of singing bass. He resides just outside of Columbus in a cottage on a lake with his wife, Loretta. Don enjoys spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren.

The quartet's baritone, Dr. Matthew Bridger, began his barbershop career in North Carolina singing the tenor part with the Research Triangle Park Chapter. He now sings baritone and has fallen in love with filling a barbershop chord. Matthew is a physician practicing in Columbus, where he lives with his wife Robbin, his daughter Sydnee and his son, Bo. Matthew won a district championship with "Dynamics" in 1997.

Mark Nofziger adds the tenor and does it with power and precision. He is a Systems Architect for J.P. Morgan Chase in Columbus and brings a wealth of experience to the quartet. During his many years as a Singing Buckeye, Mark has sung with "Tentative Agreement", "Entourage" and in 1995 went to the International competition with "Ace In The Hole". His lovely wife, Debbie, and their daughters, Emily and Abby, enjoy watching Mark show off his strong tenor voice.

Our lead singer, Gary Wulf, began as a tenor singer more years ago than he cares to count. Gary comes from the Buckeye State, but travels throughout the country and the world as an accomplished coach and presentation judge. He lives in Dublin, Ohio with his wife Jan and his stepchildren, Jennifer and Eric, Gary's older sons, Jason and Chad Wulf, sing in the outstanding "Impulse" quartet. Gary has sung in many groups over the years prior to joining Park Avenue including "Dynamics" (1997 JAD champions) and the 1989 JAD Champions, "Bowery Boys." In addition, Gary is the artistic-director of the Singing Buckeye Chorus.

Park Avenue is excited about performing for you for many years to come.
