TOP SHELF was formed in the Spring of 2013 with a desire to sing the very best blend of barbershop and current music. It is our goal to share a unique variety of music with our listeners, and bring barbershop harmony to new audiences. Although we are a relatively new quartet, we collectively have over 80 years of barbershop singing experience! We are very excited about our future together, as we have placed as high as the top five in both the Johnny Appleseed District Contest and the Johnny Appleseed International Preliminary contest.

Jason would be considered a Barbershop Brat. He has been singing Barbershop Harmony since the age of 11, and has been a member of the Singing Buckeyes for over 30 years. Jason has been a part of several quartets over the years, most notably, IMPULSE which won the Johnny Appleseed District Contest in the fall of 2002 and competed at the International Quartet Competition three times. Jason is an Elementary School Principal with the Upper Arlington City Schools and resides there with his two sons (Tyler and Michael "also Barbershop Brats").

LEAD - Zac Robison

Zac developed his love of barbershop music at an early age. At only nine years old, he joined the Fostoria Lake Plains chorus with his father, David. Zac attended Bowling Green State famed BGSU Men's Chorus and two different varsity quartets. During this time, he also joined the Voices of Harmony, a Bowling Green based barbershop chapter. After graduation, he moved to Newark, OH where he joined The Alliance and The Singing Buckeyes, competing with The Alliance at the International Competition in 2014. He currently lives with his wife, Rebekah, and works for The Ohio Network for Innovation as a Family Support Specialist, assisting families and children with disabilities. Zac also sits on the Board of Directors for Licking County Players, a local community theater in Newark.

John has been singing in quartets and with the Singing Buckeyes chorus for over 20 years. He has sung bass in the majority of his quartets (most notably Class Ring - JAD medalists), a little bit of lead (Buckeye Blend), and now baritone.  When not singing, John can be found working as a licensed physical therapist assistant at Grant Hospital.  John's wife, Maggie, is a Sweet Adeline who also sings the baritone part.  They can't sing together because no one can stay on the melody.

Richard has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 15 years. He is a 1997 graduate of The Ohio State University, where he was a 5 year member of The Ohio State University Marching Band and the Men's Glee Club. Richard teamed up with Jason to win the 2002 Johnny Appleseed District Championship with "Impulse" and qualified for the International Contest 3 times. Richard also sang bass and competed at the International Contest with the 2008 Johnny Appleseed District Champions, Cadillac Jack.
